- Place litter tray in bathroom, ideal small space for cat to get familiar with.
- Different size litter trays for kittens and cats.
- Cats will make a mess if litter tray too small.
- As cat grows then so must litter tray.
- Not necessary to use kitten specific litter for kittens.
- No more than 2” of litter in the tray, otherwise it is wasted.
- Place piece of older poop in litter tray to encourage kitten.
- If kitten poops on floor do not punish kitten. Place poop in tray and show the kitten.
- Do not place food and water near the litter tray.
