The main points from the video are:

If your cat has fleas then bath them with flea prevention shampoo

Use kitchen sink or bath if it has shower head

Fleas are not just on the cat, they are around the house

You will have to irradiate fleas by vacuum cleaning carpets

Put vacuum bag in freezer to kill fleas before putting it in the garbage

Let the shampoo work for ten minutes then rinse the cat well

When dry, treat with a product like Revolution, Advantage or Front Line for longterm control

Apply treatment to back of neck, but be advised it takes 24 hours to become effective

Use a flea comb and drop any fleas into soapy water.

Caring for your cat can actually be great for your own physical and mental being. Cat care can even help you maintain a healthy emotional life. Continue reading

Great cat care is an important part of keeping your feline companion happy and healthy. However, there are benefits that go far beyond ensuring that your cat stays in peak shape and enjoys a high quality of life. Caring for your cat can actually be great for your own physical and mental being. Cat care can even help you maintain a healthy emotional life. When you achieve better pet care, you are achieving a better lifestyle for yourself.

Scientific experts have shown that caring for and enjoying a pet is great for your body. Spending time with a tame, happy animal is relaxing, and studies show that people who regularly spend time with pets have lower blood pressure and lower cholesterol levels than their pet-less friends and neighbors. These factors can not only improve your quality of life, they can actually extend your life expectancy and help you stay in better physical shape for a greater number of years than the average person. The really great news is that both the process and the result of cat caring are equally beneficial to your health, so whether you are looking after your cat or enjoying a friendly tug of war using a ball of yarn, you are helping yourself stay happy and healthy.

If you are looking for a way to make exercise a seamless part of your day, cat care may be the answer. A top notch cat care regimen includes a wide range of activities from trimming nails to cleaning the litter box to more advanced and challenging tasks like training your cat. Almost every single aspect of cat care, from persuading your kitten to swallow a tablet to petting your cat gently while you are watching television, is great for your health simply because it keeps you moving. Whenever the process of looking after your cat gets you to move even a single muscle that would otherwise be lazily slumped on the couch, cat care is helping your body and your mind. When you chase your cat around the room for a playful game, you are also chasing a healthier heart, stronger bones, and a more robust circulatory system. Caring for your feline friend helps you life a more active lifestyle.

Caring for your pet is also great for your emotional health. When you rub your cat behind the ears as it purrs softly, you are sure to feel as happy as your cat does. These regular sessions of happy, comforting relaxation are an important part of cat care, and can contribute to a more positive psychological outlook throughout the day. When you spend time sharing love and peace with your cat by providing cat care, your brain releases hormones that make you feel great, and help you manage stress and keep a positive outlook on life. Caring for your car is a great way to keep yourself feeling positive and happy.

Cat care that involves directly interacting with your pet may help you make your life longer, healthier and happier. Continue reading

Research suggests that spending time providing cat care may actually increase both your life span, and your quality of life. Studies have shown that the relaxation and happiness that come from spending time with a domestic animal like a cat or a dog have numerous health benefits. Cat care that involves directly interacting with your pet may help you make your life longer, healthier and happier.

The research done on the correlation between spending time with a pet and having better than average health is conclusive. A study conducted at Brooklyn College in New York followed a number of heart disease sufferers after they were discharged from the hospital. The single social factor that was shown to be the strongest predictor of survival was pet ownership. Other studies have proved that citizens who put time into dog care or cat care visited their general practitioners less frequently than non pet-owners, and were less likely to require prescription drugs. Because of the mental stimulation and positive emotions associated with spending time with a pet, treatment centers and retirement homes across the nation are encouraging people to bring pets to visit residents who are in recovery. This suggests that even short term exposure to a cat or dog can have positive health benefits. If this is the case, just imagine what spending time with a cat every day can do for your body and your mind!

As an aside pets are also used in prisons where contact between pet and inmate has improved the behavior patterns and tendencies of the inmate involved. This is more proof that pets have such ab influence on the well being of their handler or owner. Who can forget the ‘Birdman of Alcatraz’ and his care of birds.

Some experts theorize that the reason why engaging in hands on care of a cat can both increase your life span and improve your health has to do with the simple fact that cat care offers you stability.
Cat care is a daily activity that requires you to spend at least a little bit of time each day sharing love and affection with another living being. This gives your day a little bit of structure that can help you stay calm and focused no matter what life throws at you. Pet care is a regular, steady routine that can help you stay motivated and focused on making progress in all arenas of your life.

Daily care of your pet can help you feel positive and confident, two traits which research suggest can greatly improve your chances of beating a disease or making a speedy recovery from a medical procedure. Offering your pet loving care is a boon to your health because it makes you feel like a great person every single day. The love your cat shows you when you provide top shelf care can help you shake off negative feelings and emotions like sadness or anger. Cat care can help you manage stress and keep an upbeat attitude.

What all of this research adds up to is that pet care is good for your health. Making cat care a part of your routine can help you take a positive, enjoyable step towards a healthier lifestyle in the present and the future. The better care that you can provide for your pet, the more affection and happiness your pet can offer you in return. Think of great cat care as a way to say thank you to your cat for the health benefits that it offers you.

Although the phrase “cat care” may bring to mind thoughts of hard work or obligation, with the right attitude and a little information, cat care can become an enjoyable part of your day. If you do it right, caring for your cat can be something that you actually look forward to. Helping your cat stay happy and healthy is only as much fun as you let it be, but by learning how to provide the optimum care for your beloved pet, you can make care routines a treat for both of you.

One important part of making cat care fun is taking enough time to enjoy it. If you whip through your care routine with one eye on the clock at all times, you won’t be able to fully appreciate the experience of being with your pet. Try thinking of your pet’s care as a chance to relax and escape the hassles of daily life. Put on your favorite CD and relax as you complete care tasks like grooming your pet and playing with him or her to help you both bond and relax. The process of caring for a pet is an inherently satisfying and enjoyable one so long as you allow yourself to have fun while doing it instead of trying to rush through and minimize the time you take for cat care. After all, the time you spend with your cat is quality time indeed.

Another benefit of making cat care a pleasurable activity is education. Teaching yourself a bit more about pet care techniques can help you be certain that you are offering your cat the best possible care. The more you know about your pet’s care, the better equipped you will be to keep your cat healthy and happy, and there are few things as satisfying as seeing your cat’s health improve because of your love and attention. If you want the care of your feline friend to be a reward for yourself as well as for your pet, it is important to make sure that you are doing a good job of it.

The better you are at caring, the more fun you will have when caring for your cat. There are few experiences more rewarding than reveling in the knowledge that you have done a job well, and cat care is no exception. When you improve your skills or brush up on your cat care basics, you are taking steps to transform your pet care from a run of the mill experience to something that you can be proud of. When you provide your cat with the optimum care for his or her personality, age, and type of cat, you will be able to feel a sense of accomplishment in your abilities that is invaluable, and very enjoyable. When you improve your cat care skills, you can look forward to a happier cat, and to a happier you as well.

Cats learn that certain activies result in positive rewards, so they continue to do them over and over again. Continue reading

Do you have a cat that is:

* Ignoring the litter box and instead messing on the floor, your bed or anywhere else they shouldn’t be.
* Biting you, your children or your guests unexpectedly.
* Scratching your couch, bed, and other furniture?
* Digging in houseplant pots.
* Fighting with other cats that you have.
* Keeping you awake at night.
* Just plain misbehaving?

Then if so you need a proven method to train your cat to cure these actions.

In order to effectively train your cat, you must understand the way cats think, and what drives their actions.

Cats and dogs do not think alike, and trying to use the same training methods on a cat that you would use on a dog will not help and may make the problem worse.

Cats have completely different instincts and react differently than what dogs do. Yelling or physically punishing a cat will only make them fear you, rather than solve behavior problems.

However, there is one learning method cats, dogs, and even people do have in common, and that is classical conditioning. In other words, they learn to associate certain behaviors with certain outcomes.

Cats learn that certain activities result in positive rewards, so they continue to do them over and over again. Other actions cause negative outcomes, so they avoid them.

So, what is the difference between this and simply punishing your cat? Won’t yelling at your cat when they do something wrong make them associate the behavior with a negative outcome?

It might, but wouldn’t it better if your cat associated their bad behavior with the negative consequence, rather than associating the negative consequence with you?

If you are interested in learning more about cat behavior problems and how to cure them once and for all then I recommend that you read this highly rated cat behavior book that contains straight to the point, no-fluff real world solutions to cat behavior problems, that truly work.

Save time and money by curing your cat’s behavioral problems quickly and effectively by immediately downloading and reading this book.

However, there is more to cat care than just routine maintenance. The more you learn about caring for your pet, the more you will begin to understand that cat care is as much about making your cat happy as it is about keeping your cat healthy. There are many benefits to offering your pet cat care that goes beyond the mere basics. By giving your pet the best possible care, you are giving yourself the chance to learn about your cat’s unique personality, revel in greater understanding of the wants and needs of your pet, and increase your own personal happiness.

Cats can seem very mysterious and enigmatic, even to their owners. Many cat fans feel that this is part of feline appeal, but it can also be frustrating not to know what is motivating your cat at certain times, like when it is meowing loudly at your bedroom door at four in the morning. When you gain a greater understanding of cat care, you will also get a much stronger insight into how and why your cat functions the way that it does. The more you know about what motivates a cat to engage in it’s behaviors that can be a nuisance in your daily life, the better equipped you will be to create a situation where those behaviors can be reduced or eliminated. The study of cat care is the study of cat’s desires and demands, so the better you understand cat care the better you will be able to give your cat what it needs so that you and your pet can live together in harmony.

When you give your cat the best possible care rather than settling for a basic, run of the mill cat care routine, you are showing your feline friend how much you care for and appreciate its unique temperament. This process helps you and your cat bond more fully so that you can have a rich, affectionate relationship. As any cat owner who has rubbed a purring cat behind the ears will be glad to profess, the happier your cat is, the happier it will make you. By giving your pet the ideal care, you are sowing the seeds for your own satisfaction and joy. Going the extra mile to learn a bit more about cat care than you know today can translate into a better relationship with your pet that is a more than ample reward for a little additional effort on your part. If you can learn to provide the best possible care, you can help to forge a more mutually beneficial future for you and your feline friend.

The more excellent your cat care regimen is for your cat, the more joy you will get out of pet ownership. When you engage in cat care activities like feeding, petting, or playing with your cat, you are showing your feline friend how much you love it. Seeing your cat at his or her healthiest is its own reward, but there are benefits to cat care beyond just keeping your kitten in top shape. Cat care can improve your quality of life and make every day sweeter.

Succeeding at offering your pet the best possible care helps you maintain a positive attitude about your abilities, and can boost your confidence in other areas. Improving your cat care can be a great first step towards overcoming challenges and difficulties in other areas of your life. Psychological experts agree that caring for a pet is a great way to improve your self esteem. When you see how much your care efforts matters to your pet, you will be able to appreciate how much of an impact your actions can have. This helps you feel confident and upbeat about your chances of success at work or school, and in your social life.

Care of your feline friend can be great for your social life. In addition to the confidence boost that taking excellent care of your feline companion can offer, cat care teaches you to expect and feel comfortable with positive interaction. When you bond with your cat, you are practicing the basic social skills that will help you win friends. Caring for your cat may even help make you more comfortable expressing love and affection, and it will certainly let you feel more confident about your feelings being reciprocated. When you pay careful attention to your pet care, you are strengthening your ability to be responsible and trustworthy, qualities that will help you keep friends. Experts recommend pet ownership as a great way to help children learn good social skills, and adults may be able to see substantial social benefits as well.

Many people think that caring for their cat and enjoying their cat are two separate activities. However, the truth is that cat care is largely about showing your cat love and affection. That’s why it is called cat care: because it is how you show that you care about your cat. The caring can be a satisfying part of your day every day because it lets you see that you’ve had an effect. When you groom your cat or clean its litter box, you will see a visible difference result immediately from your actions. When you spend a few minutes curled up with your cat on the couch, you will be able to notice a distinct attitude change in both your cat and yourself as you both bask in the calm glow of shared affection. Cat care can make your life richer and fuller on a daily basis.
